GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This competition is open to primarily Singaporeans or Permanent Residents. Groups with a mix of Singaporeans or Permanent Residents with few members who work/study and reside in Singapore, excluding tourist, are allowed.

  • All performers and parents of performers must not be of Korean nationality. Performers of only 1 Korean parent descent may take part.

  • All performers must be fully vaccinated.

  • All performers below the age of 18 must seek parental consent before applying.

  • All information provided in the registration form must be accurate at the point of submission

  • Any submission after the deadline of 21st of May 2022, 2359hrs will not be considered.

  • Only participants selected for the Preliminary battle stage (19th of June 2022) will be notified via email.

  • Participants should be free and available to compete at the Preliminary battle stage (on 19th of June) and to participate in the grand finals (Late Aug-Sept) should Singapore be selected for the grand finals. 

  • The winning team in the first place will also win a chance to represent Singapore for the K-Pop World Festival. It is not guaranteed. This is in addition to the prizes offered. A live audition by the K-Pop World Festival may be held after our competition to assess the winner. The K-Pop World Festival is still subjected to COVID-19 situation in South Korea.     • KWF is the world’s largest global K-Pop competition spanning across all 7 continents. Shortlisted preliminary finalists will be invited to Korea on a 2-weeks all-expense paid program (subjected to COVID-19 situation in South Korea) where they will experience an array of Korean cultural activities and be trained in preparation by Korean industry experts to perform on the same stage as world renown idols for the grand finals in Changwon, Republic of Korea!

  • Personal data in Singapore is protected under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). With the PDPA, all information and personal data collected shall not be disclosed and will remain within the organizing parties.

VOCAL CATEGORY

  • Choice of song(s) must be only in Korean and be of at least 1 complete song.

  • For live performance backup dancers are allowed but not compulsory.

  • No maximum duration but best to limit performance to within 5mins.

  • There is no restriction on the number of vocalists. However, KBS reserves the right to remove any member from participating in the final round if they are deemed to not be of significant contribution to the team.​

  • For vocal category, only instrumental tracks or live instrument backups are allowed. Do ensure that vocal audio is clear and not overpowered by the supporting audio..

  • There is no restriction when the video was filmed. However, groups are to maintain the same vocalist for all stages of the competition, reduction/change in performers during the preliminary stage due to unforeseen circumstances may be permitted and subjected to approval by the organisers.

PERFORMANCE CATEGORY (DANCE)

  • Choice of song(s) must be only in Korean and of at least 1 complete song.

  • Performers are required to lip-sync clearly to their performance song during their live performance.

  • No maximum duration but best to limit performance to within 5mins.

  • There is no restriction on the number of members but groups are recommended to match the number of members of the original groups of the songs they are performing to. 

  • There are no restrictions on when the dance video was filmed. However, the members of the winning group must be able to come together for live performance for the Singapore Preliminary. 

  • The winning team may need to have their vocals recorded in a separate audio recording (AR) to be submitted to KBS as part of the selection process for 2022 Changwon K-Pop World Festival

  • Audition Judging Criteria

       Costume & Video Quality 20%

VIDEO SUBMISSION

  • Recommended 16:9 aspect ratio, widescreen format. Further editing can be done within the video.

  • Max file size for submission is 5GB.

  • Video resolution should at least be 720p and submitted in mp4 format.

  • Video must be clear, in focus with clear visibility of the applicants' face (vocal) and full body (performance)

  • Applicants are required to complete the registration form via www.sgkpopfest.com with a download link your audition video.

  • Video entry should be titled as "SGKWF 2022 Auditions Stage/Group Name"

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • By participating in this event, the participant is deemed to have read and accepted all terms and conditions.

  • By submitting an entry, the participant hereby grants the Organiser rights to reproduce, publish, edit, store, adapt, assign, dispose of and distribute the entry.

  • The decision made by the judging committee in the selection of finalist will be deemed absolute.

  • The Organiser cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injuries or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize

  • The Organiser reserves the right to pick the top three acts (chosen from both Vocals and Performance categories combined) as the representative submissions for the 2022 Changwon K-Pop World Festival.

  • Groups are to maintain the same performers for all stages of the competition, reduction/change in performers during the preliminary stage due to unforeseen circumstances may be permitted and subjected to approval by the organisers. Reduction of members may be requested for the Grand Finals in South Korea.

  • The winning teams may be required to provide additional details and recordings in preparation for the subsequent stages of the global competition. 

  • The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize for an item of equal or greater value in the event all or part of a prize becomes unavailable. Prizes are awarded without warranty of any kind from the Organiser.

  • The Organiser may at any time, at its sole and absolute discretion, vary any of these Terms and Conditions without prior notice and without furnishing any reason.
